What do you include in your sales and marketing plan?

I was asked to participate in a blog post on the Entreprenette Gazette site. Here’s my response (tip #1!):

1. Be consistent!

The secret to email marketing success is to be consistent. Customers will come to expect your email newsletters or promotions if you send them at a regular frequency. For our customers, we’ve found that twice monthly on a Tuesday at 10 a.m. is the “sweet spot” for open rates and responses. You’ll need to try different frequencies and sending times/days to determine what’s right for your customer base. Most email services like Constant Contact and iContact have a metrics dashboard to assist you.
