Is extreme interviewing really necessary?

I just read this article on extreme interview situations and I have to say that I’m a little appalled that we’ve stopped treating candidates with the respect and dignity that they deserve. Instead, we’ve turned in our appropriate job interview skills and traded them with stress interviews, absurd questions and basically bad manners. I sincerely hope that this is not the future of interviewing.

There are plenty of ways for interviewers and HR professionals to determine if a candidate is qualified. Try behavioral interviewing and leave the pranks and party tricks for your friends.
