Fundraising for cystic fibrosis

Pardon the interruption from our regular discussions on HR, business and technology, but I’m currently taking part in an exciting journey that I want to share with you:

I was invited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help them with fundraising and increased market exposure in Maryland. CFF is recognizing several young professionals for their commitment to their communities and professional success and I’m honored to be a part of this group!

There are lots of ways for you to get involved with my campaign and I hope you’ll consider helping:

1. Spread the message with your own personal networks through conventional means and social media. Here’s a link to my personal fundraising page that contains additional information about CF.

2. If you’re able, I would be super appreciative of a donation in either cash or an item for our silent auction in November.

3. If you own a business, I would love to talk to you about exciting and fun corporate events to help CF!

Cystic fibrosis is a devastating genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. More than ten million Americans are symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene. Advances continue to be made in finding a cure, but your help is needed now — more than ever — to help keep up the momentum of this life-saving research.

When the Foundation began in 1955, most children with CF did not live to see their first day of elementary school. Today, the median predicted age of survival for a person with CF is in the mid-30s. This is remarkable progress, but not good enough. We continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. To learn more about CF and the CF Foundation, visit their website.

Also, here’s a great (and short!) video about CF — check it out.

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with cystic fibrosis. Thank you!
