My first full-time employer had a lavish black-tie optional holiday party. It was the event of the year and most employees looked forward to it for months in advance of the big day. It was a “see and be seen” event with employees from all over the country flying in to the headquarters area for the festivities.
One year, a few co-workers imbibed just a wee bit too much and ended up dancing in the fountain. Needless to say, their performance was not received well by their managers or corporate management.
