Social media monitoring

“Social media monitoring” has become quite the buzz word/phrase in the past few years. Essentially, businesses (and people with public personas) should monitor what is being said about them. There are some simple and free ways to do this. For example, I use Google alerts. This list provides 22 examples of things that you might want to monitor.

The new rules of marketing aren’t so new

For those of us working in marketing, we’re always trying to see what strategies are working for the competitors and how we might be able to implement those for our own organizations. I also read a ton of business articles to try to learn about the best best practices. I came across this article and I realized that the new rules of marketing are actually the same old rules of marketing. What do you include in your sales and marketing plan?

I was asked to participate in a blog post on the Entreprenette Gazette site. Here’s my response (tip #1!): 1. Be consistent! The secret to email marketing success is to be consistent. More on QR Codes…

I just discovered another great QR code generator. PingTags is still in beta release, but it allows you to login with your LinkedIn account and automatically generates a QR code that links to your LinkedIn profile. Could this be any easier?!? To get an idea of what a PingTags profile looks like, my QR code is included in this post. Simply use your QR code reader to scan the image and you’ll launch my LinkedIn profile, formatted for the screen size. I’ve added my QR code as my signature block to my personal email account. When I order new business cards, I will most likely include the image as...
