Can you afford not to be trained in human resources?

Attention small business owners and managers! Can you afford not to be trained in human resources?

Employee lawsuits have risen 400% in the past 20 years and the most common targets are private employers with between 15 and 100 employees. According to an article by CIO.com, a company should expect to spend between $50,000 and $250,000 defending a lawsuit brought by an ex-employee.

As a small business owner or manager, it is your responsibility to ensure that your company is running legally and effectively. This can be a challenge when you’re busy with the day-to-day operations of running your business. However, there is help.

I will be teaching HRE 126: HUMAN RESOURCES BASICS FOR MANAGERS at Frederick Community College. The course is being offered Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:30 p.m. from September 27 through October 25.

The five sessions will cover the role of HR and the employment lifecycle, legal and effective interviewing, performance management, and HR and social media. The final session will allow participants to work through HR issues they are currently experiencing in their own organizations.

Isn’t it time you invested in proper human resources training? Sign up today!

Cost is $129 plus about $40 in books.
