Forbes recently ran an article about using Pinterest to find a job. At first, I thought that this idea was a creative use for the social media tool. Then, I started thinking about it more and I’m not sure that it is. I know several recruiters who have Pinterest accounts, but I don’t know a single one who is using it (yet!) for sourcing candidates.
I suppose it doesn’t hurt to showcase your work if you’re a creative type and also post a visual resume, but you may receive more calls for interviews if you stick to the more traditional social media recruiting tools like LinkedIn, Facebook (and apps like BranchOut and BeKnown) and Twitter. Pinterest may have its day in the recruiting world, but that day isn’t here yet.
