According to a 2013 study published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, an effective workplace wellness program could potentially decrease the average annual health costs of each working adult by 18.4 percent, and for working adults aged 60 to 64, the savings could be significantly higher at 27.9 percent per year. 2 in 5 Employees Expecting Pay Raises in 2014; Glassdoor Survey

HR may want to prepare for more requests for pay raises and time off in 2014, as pay raises, looking for a new job and using all vacation days earned are among employees’ top career resolutions, according to Glassdoor’s Q4 2013 Employment Confidence Survey. In fact, more employees (42%) are optimistic about receiving a pay raise in 2014, up five percentage points since last quarter, as employees’ fears over being laid off (15%) remain steady at its lowest in nearly five years.
